Five Question Friday: 8/3/12

It's Friday! We got our move-in date for our apartment. Next Friday! I'm so excited! AND it will be my first choice apartment -- two bedrooms and a den. The den is pretty much like a third bedroom, so we should be able to move a ton of stuff from storage into our apartment and have room for me, Hubby, and Baby G. It's more money, but I am hoping things will equal out if we don't have to rent a storage unit anymore.

Friday means Five Question Friday time:

Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky post to appear Friday morning and LINK UP!

Oh, and remember (pay close attention...this is the important one)...HAVE FUN!

1. What is a must in a hotel room?
I was going to say clean sheets and towels because it grosses me out to find stray hairs anywhere (even when they are my own). But I think even more important is a non-smoking room. I end up getting sick if I sleep in a room people have been smoking in.

2. Which Olympic event would you be best at?
None. But I think I'd make a decent judge!

3. What's your stance on the Chick-fil-A subject?
This is tough because 1) I don't think I know the entire story behind it all and 2) Despite that, I've heard some good points coming from people who are boycotting CFA and those who made it a priority to buy food from there this week. I can see both sides (it's the Libra in me).

I guess it doesn't surprise me what CFA's stance on gays is. I mean, they aren't open on Sundays becuase of their religious background. I will say this has been an interesting debate to see on Face.Book. People who are very accepting of gays have bought food from CFA this week based on the "This is America, we have the right to believe/say what we want" appoach. They believe CFA is just sporting their American right. And they are. The owners can believe what they want and give money to who they want, but I don't believe they should be using CFA's money to support those beliefs. And it does make me sad they are condeming a whole group of people. That also seems unAmerican to me.

Like I said, I don't know the whole story. But that's my stance based on what I have heard. I don't really like their food anyway (except for the sausage biscuts they had at the CFA in college... YES they sold a non-chicken product there *GASP*). I guess this is why I haven't gotten too involved.

4. One thing you said you'd never do as a parent, but totally have.
Let the TV be a babysitter. YES, I have done this with my 4 month old. I'm not proud as I have heard over and over again you shouldn't let kids under the age of 2 watch TV. But sometimes it's the only way I can go to the bathroom or make myself lunch or even eat lunch. I have to pee and eat too! He's only interested if there are lots of bright colors (Sesame Street and The Wiggles seem to facinate him). Or pretty ladies (he and Hubby like watching the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders show). I, personally, make sure we're watching kid-friendly stuff in the hopes of stimulating his mind. I can tolerate little kid shows much better than my husband. (That's because I still like watching them, but SHHHH that's a secret, Internet!)

5. What's the weirdest thing you've ever found at a yard sale?
I don't really go to yard sales, so I don't have a good answer for this.

  1. Your new apartment sounds great!! I am sure you are so excited to get moved in and to have all that extra space. I bet Baby G will like it too! :) I was the same way about TV prebaby but really, I am sure a little TV here and there is not coming to drastically change our childrens' futures! ;) Have a great weekend!
